Interpretation Guidelines

Waist-to-Hip Ratio

A measure of fat distribution that indicates health risks:

  • Men: Healthy < 0.90, At risk ≥ 0.90
  • Women: Healthy < 0.85, At risk ≥ 0.85

Waist-to-Height Ratio

Indicator of abdominal obesity:

  • Healthy: < 0.5
  • Moderate risk: 0.5 - 0.6
  • High risk: > 0.6

Body Adiposity Index

Estimates body fat percentage:

  • Men: Healthy 8-20%, Overweight 21-25%, Obese >25%
  • Women: Healthy 21-33%, Overweight 34-39%, Obese >39%

Neck Circumference

Indicator of upper-body fat:

  • Men: At risk if >39cm
  • Women: At risk if >35cm
